I'm a biker. First time I hear of Simon is when I read about it in a magazine. Very saddened. My condolences to his family and FEMA.

It was a saddening shock to read this morning of Simon's death. I dealt with him often in the early and mid 90s both in his role with MAG and later with the FEM. I was the journalist asking him to simplify the tangled web of Brussels clap-trap aimed at strangling motorcycling, he was the ever-patient, clear-minded and friendly bloke who made my job so much easier. We were the same age, but I can safely say he achieved a load more in the same amount of time. He'll be missed.

it is said that dying cancels all debts. in this case it's not true, europes, indeed the worlds bikers can never really repay the debt we all owe to this magnificent man.
may he be remembered forever,

I met Simon when he came through the Dallas / Fort Worth area to do a Motorcycle Show.
I lent him some equipment and he gave our Chapter his presentation. We were priveledged to get a great presentation of his travels so far. He was inspiring and everyone at the meeting donated towards his cause.
I told Simon to write a book when he completed his journey. It would be a good fund raiser and I would be in line to get one myself.
Very few people were as committed as Simon and when a light like his goes out, it really does get darker for the rest of us.
Thanks Simon.
